Watched the Phantom of the Opera yesterday. The voices of the movie cast was not as good as the musical's, but I guess it was still passable. In any case, the gorgeous costumes and sets made up of it. The part when Christine sang 'Wishing you were somehow here again' in a snow-covered cemetery is simply enchanting. But I thought she was heartless and selfish. I like Meg better haha.

Sigh. Still got jazz and salsa class later. I don't want to go because I'm aching really bad from the kickboxing and pilates class yesterday, yet I want to go because I think I'll enjoy today's class. Afterall it's dance. Kickboxing was really tough, pilates was slightly better. Hope today's class is easy and relaxed...haha dream on...I bet I'll be half-dead by tonight.

Feeling kind of disappointed because I can't go for my primary class gathering, I haven't been to the gatherings for so long because of various things which cropped up on the days of the gatherings. Today I'm free, at least for 3 hours, but I can't go because of...this is embarassing...no money! Haha well, of sort. It's a long story. *wails* I want to see my primary school friends!

I miss Dan er. When is she coming back? I have so many juicy stories to tell her.

Went camping again, for real. Haha. This time it was at West Coast Park with my family. We reached there at around 10pm last night. I never expected it to be bustling with so much activity there - lots of people having barbeques, couples having a picnic under the stars, christmas countdowns, the list goes on.

Anyway we found a windy spot to pitch our tents on, right next to the sea. Spent the night talking, eating, watching fireworks explode in the inky night sky and trying to sleep. It's unbelievably freezing by the sea, I didn't know Singapore could ever be so cold. I wore two jackets to sleep but still felt chilly. Haha. Other than that, it's pretty soothing hearing the waves crash against the shore. Really sends you to dreamland.

Of course, I got woken up a few times in the night. First, it was my mom screaming that she saw a mouse nearby and insisting that we move to another place. Second, it was these three men who had chosen to have a private chit-chat right next to my tent. They weren't very soft either - I could hear every word they were speaking. Then, in the wee hours of the morning, a group of ang-mohs came to have a party near us.

They woke me up completely and I couldn't get back to sleep anymore, so my sister and I headed to the enormous playground to play. It was 4am and we had the whole place to ourselves! Muahahaha! So fun. I wanna go camping again.

Oh yeah, and have a happy christmas people...

After months of longing and yearning, I finally went ice-skating again! Whoo! I have missed the rink so much - the sudden blast of cold air when you enter, the smoky smell of the place, the familiar muffled music which they haven't changed for years. Ahhhh! *sighs in contentment*

Ice-skating with Madie yesterday was so fun. I think we must have skated at least fifty rounds around the rink haha. It was a bit crowded though, but I guess it's also kind of fun too weaving in and out of people haha. I love going really fast, then you can literally feel the wind running through your hair and your cheeks turn numb with cold. The only problem is that it's pretty dangerous to do so because of the little kids around - when they fall, their fingers are completely outstretched, so if you can't brake in time, there goes their fingers. Sliced.

Speaking of that, I stepped on someone's bare foot yesterday with my skating boots on. It was totally an accident... I was with Madie, looking for my place to sit, when someone from behind said "Excuse me". I moved backwards to make way for her, when she started screaming and screeching. I realised I had stepped on a toe of a middle-aged woman. Uh-oh. She sat down, removed her sock and started examining her foot while I stood beside her, apologising profusely and feeling utterly bad about it, because the blade of my boot had cut her toe. She glared at me, then looked at her foot again, then at me again, then back to her foot. Her brows were furrowed and she was scowling at me so hard I was worried that her face would stay permanently fixed in that position. I apologised some more and wondered if I should buy some plasters from her, when she did some gesture with her hand which I interpreted as "Go away". So Madie and I went to continue looking for a seat, with me feeling awfully guilty. Even though the cut was tiny, about half a cm long, I imagine it must hurt a lot. People, that's how sharp the blades are and they can really slice your fingers, so remember to ball up your hands into a fist when you fall on ice. Oh yeah, and don't go around the rink bare-footed with only your socks on.

Heck, I still feel sort of guilty...

Tried camping last night with my siblings, under a tent in the garden haha. We didn't bring any pillows and blankets with us, and only slept on the grass, with a backpack as a pillow under our heads to create a "true camping experience", as my brother puts it. Haha. The night air was quite cool and it was really breezy, but the mosquitoes which were attacking us, despite the mosquito coil and repellent, tempted us to run into the houses, just a few steps away. Plus, the hoots of the owls and bats flying around were kind of creepy. And seeing the moving shadows on the walls of my tent reminded me of the story Ms Wong told us from the Blair Witch Project. It freaked me out. So into the house I ran, together with my brother and sister. At least we endured for 2 hours hehe.

Went to the chrismas party at Emmeline's church. We played games, exchanged candy and did the usual church stuff. The games weren't that fun for me and Yingjun because we did not know the people there, but they were really friendly and nice though. Wondering whether to go to watch the play organised church on christmas's eve. Maybe not. This year I want to spend christmas and eve at home...I can really feel the christmas spirit all around, something I haven't felt ever since we stopped celebrating christmas years ago.

Although I have not come any closer to the answer, at least some questions have been solved along the way.

Sigh. Only two weeks left of the holidays. Actually most of my time is spent at home watching this chinese period drama serial - tian long ba bu - which I rented. I'm hooked onto it - can watch up to 9 episodes everyday haha.

Went out with Huimin on Wednesday. She's still as hilarous as ever. Since we haven't seen each other for a year, we had a lot of catching up to do. I'm glad that she hasn't changed, we're still quite close. We went to Heeren where I was amazed by her gobbling up two bowls of wanton mee at one go. Whoa. Then we walked some more, all the way to Plaza Singapura, shopped a little there, afterwhich we went to my house to play.

Then yesterday, I went to Plaza Singapura again with my sister, accompanying her to her knitting class. For two hours I walked round and round the building, whiling my time away. Then, after my sister finished her lesson, we went to Carrefour to buy groceries for my mom. Lots of bagettes and sushi, which we had for supper. Yummy.

My piggybank is drastically reduced just by those two shopping trips. 2 shirts, 1 skirt and a cute little handbag which resembles a miniature coffin haha. Plus 2 pairs of Nike shoes. And thanks to those donation people, I can proudly declare myself bankrupt - I lost $12.50 to them in a single day. That's almost like 2 movie tickets down the silly donation tin. Urgh. But they are darn good, in fact they should go and become salespeople or something. My brain told my hand not to budge, but my hand went ahead to reach for my wallet anyway. *sobs* No more money to spend. Remind me to do some money rationing next december.
